An exciting note from the Eastern Pacific Yacht Club (EPYC)
Hello to all Bisbee's enthusiasts,
We’re really excited to announce that construction for EPYC's 160’ M/V Pacific Provider is now underway in Seattle. Membership interest has been very strong to date and I can only imagine that it will substantially increase now that the boat is being refit and will begin its first voyage to Panama next March.
Captain Rich Austin will be attending this year’s Black & Blue and will be available during registration and throughout the event at the Bluewater C.U.P. Series booth to answer questions and accept membership deposits.
We’re really looking forward to having the big ship available at the 2008 Bisbee's after its first tour in Central America. Please review the press release below for further details.
We look forward to seeing you in Cabo and wish you the very best of luck as you compete in the world's richest fishing tournaments!
Sincerely,
Tom Ellsworth

CONSTRUCTION OF FLAGSHIP FOR EASTERN PACIFIC YACHT CLUB UNDERWAY
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 2, 2007 – The official launch of the Eastern Pacific Yacht Club (EPYC) is one step closer to reality as investor funding is complete and re-fit construction has begun in Seattle.
EPYC, the first ocean-based yacht club of its kind, signed a $4 million refit conversion contract on the 156’ F/V Shelikof late September. Yacht Escort Ships will oversee the mechanical refit at Stabbart Maritime Shipyard in Seattle, with interior refit scheduled to commence in San Diego later this year. “Our aim is to provide a new dimension to boating,” said Tom Ellsworth, EPYC founder and owner of Ellsworth Marine, one of the world’s largest Riviera dealers. “The club and its amenities will provide unparalleled access to the waters off the Western U.S., Mexico and Central America.”
One of EPYC’s strongest supporters is “Team Bad Company” owner Anthony Hsieh, who earlier this year acquired the Crow’s Nest Yacht Sales organization on the West Coast. He shares the belief that EPYC is breaking new ground by offering a new experience for boaters who are hungry for far away adventures.
“Tom has put together a comprehensive boating package that not only can enhance the range of a member’s present boat, but can also provide a great alternative,” said Hsieh. “By using the club’s on-board game boats, members can fish remote locations throughout the world without putting those long range hours on their own vessel. EPYC brings the experience of elite Mothership ownership to the everyday boat owner.”
EPYC offers memberships to boat owners as well as those who would rather forego boat ownership. Membership includes use of the ship’s game boats, 28-32 advanced reservation nights aboard the ship in any of the luxury suites, and unlimited access to the ship’s overflow lodging.
The ship, to be christened the M/V Pacific Provider, also features a full tackle center, a large assortment of water toys, dive gear, four 500-gallon bait tanks, a gym, hot tub, the Marlin Bar, dining room and 60,000 gallons of fuel.
While the first ship will cruise between Southern California and Panama, EPYC plans to expand its fleet to three ships within the next five years, providing access as far north as Alaska and as far south as South America. All existing members will have the same access to each additional ship.
“Member sales have been strong since our launch earlier this year and we expect to sell out the first vessel by our christening date in February 2008,” said Ellsworth.
The Eastern Pacific Yacht Club is a private membership club offering boaters a luxury social platform and provisioning at sea amidst the hottest fishing and cruising locations off the Western U.S., Mexico and Central America. Membership is subject to provisions set forth in the EPYC Club Membership Agreement. For more information or to secure a membership package, call 1-866-841-0931. |
